The Brief

To create a custom Minecraft experience which brings the entire site of Expo 2020 Dubai into Minecraft as an explorable adventure and educational resource. Expo 2020 is one of the world’s largest events, bringing 192 countries and their greatest minds to collaborate and innovate for a better tomorrow. This is the first time a World Expo has been fully recreated in a digital format, and our Minecraft Expo will help the event reach those who may not be able to attend in-person.

The Build

We built a vast Minecraft world, at 1:1 scale, which is an accurate recreation of the entire Expo 2020 Dubai site. This world was then used on a variety of Minecraft platforms, including a multiplayer event for the Expo opening ceremony, as well as an adventure world for the Minecraft Marketplace, and educational resources for Minecraft: Education Edition.

The Result

Our Minecraft Marketplace world has been downloaded over 2 million times, whilst the education version has been used by hundreds of schools internationally.
